Skin Irritation and Inflammation

Many things can turn our skin irritation and inflammation.

Skin conditions: Such as eczema, psoriasis, scabies, hives, or dry skin
Irritants and allergens: Such as soaps, chemicals, fabrics, poison ivy, cosmetics, or certain medications
Internal diseases: Such as liver or kidney disease, anemia, diabetes, or thyroid problems
Nerve disorders: Such as multiple sclerosis, pinched nerves, or shingles
Psychiatric conditions: Such as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or depression
Infections: Such as measles, chickenpox, or viral or bacterial infections

Symptoms of skin irritation and inflammation include: Redness, Pain, Itching, Dryness, and Bumps.

The five classic signs of skin inflammation are:

Redness: Inflammation causes increased blood flow to the affected area, resulting in redness and warmth.
Swelling: Inflammation can cause fluid accumulation, resulting in swelling of the affected area.
Heat: Inflammation increases blood flow to the affected area, causing a sensation of heat.
Pain: Inflammation can cause pain, which can range from mild to severe, depending on the cause and severity of the inflammation.
Loss of function: Inflammation can cause changes to the skin that can limit its normal function, such as itching or difficulty moving a joint.

Here are some ways to improve skin irritation and inflammation:

Identify triggers: Avoid harsh skincare products that causing your skin irritation and inflammation, such as intense fragrance skincare products, or food allergens, and avoid them.
Use gentle products: Use very light or fragrance-free, mild cleansers, toners and moisturizers those are suitable for sensitive skin.
Stay hydrated: Use a moisturizer to restore the skin barrier and prevent dryness, as dry skin is prone to skin inflammation.
Keep your skin refreshed: Use a refreshing natural-based and alcohol-free face toner that visibly tones, hydrates, and balances very dry or sensitive skin.
Take shorter showers: Hot water and long showers can remove too much oil and dry out your skin.
Use a cool compress: Apply a cool compress to reduce redness and soothe itching.
Use a humidifier: Add moisture to the air with a humidifier.
Refrigerate your skincare products: Store your skincare products in the refrigerator for a cooling effect.
